SGR Ep87 - From Outlaw Biker to Full Recovery with Brian McAlister

Full Recovery Brian McAlister

Brian McAlister is the CEO of Full Recovery Wellness Center and bestselling author of Full Recovery: The Recovering Person's Guide to Unleashing Your Inner Power. Brian’s commitment to helping others recover from addiction and reach their full potential is his life’s mission. But decades ago, Brian McAlister was an outlaw biker and hard drug user who would crack open a beer every morning for breakfast. He began using drugs and alcohol regularly from the age of fourteen and continued daily into his thirties until one day he woke up behind a body shop not remembering how he got there. He experienced a moment of clarity and finally decided to get help. He tells us his personal journey from rock bottom to successful entrepreneur and businessman, and how he believes everyone must seek their unique god-given talent and tap into their passion to lead a fulfilling and sober life.

Brian McAlister also talks about his petition to demand proper insurance coverage for addiction treatment. Despite the fact that drug addiction is now recognized by the American Medical Association as a progressive and terminal disease, many insurers continue to treat SAB as if it was elective and not medically necessary. Brian is on a mission to take 100,000 names to Washington to show to the president and every other politician out there to recognize that addicts are sick people and deserve the care that sufferers of any disease receive.
