Tad Stringam is a certified drug counselor and interventionist who runs Awaken Industries. Their mission is to be messengers of Love and Light and rebuild the lines of communication which always seem to erode in the process of addiction.
Tad grew up in a large Mormon family full of high-achieving siblings. This made him crave attention and he would do outrageous things to get it - like set his school on fire. At the age of 16 he lost his father, which affected him deeply. He was in and out of treatment centers and corrections facilities ever since, eventually spending a total of twelve years incarcerated.
Tad says he was really a "soft dude" but “prison is about hate, and prisons are breeding grounds for hate and racial gangs." Prison was a war zone and Tad was forced to participate in gang life to survive. He has stab wounds all over his body and has tattoos from head to toe.
Tad believes that our natural state is love and that hate is based on fear. This gives rise to the topic of the recent racial problems in America. Tad says there is collective pain and we need a leader to open the dialogue and bring it all out into the open in order to find a solution.
Tad also talks about how honored he is to intervene in addiction and gang circumstances. He gets to help people before it's too late and before they end up wasting so many years of their life in prison like he did.
